On Monday, 24 April 2023, Her Worship the Mayor, Cllr Zibuyisile Khuzwayo-Dlamini officially launched Service Delivery Week which kicked off outside the Municipality’s main buildings.
Mayor Khuzwayo-Dlamini led a team of public servants which included Municipal Councillors, management and staff to a clean-up campaign. This initiative is aimed at improving the quality of services provided to residents and identifying areas where service delivery can be improved as well as taking action to address these issues by bringing services to the people.

The programme will allow the Municipality to put in place a comprehensive plan which will amongst others focus on access road maintenance, overgrown grass along the roads, overgrown trees, open trenches on sidewalks, potholes in the town and illegal dumping.
Speaking at the launch, Mayor Khuzwayo-Dlamini urged all Municipal departments to adopt Service Delivery Week as a continuous monthly programme.
“Our administration adopted this initiative and we will ensure that it becomes part of our monthly programme. Our community must be able to see the role of the Municipality through our actions. Service Delivery Week is the Municipality’s way of displaying a Municipality which serves the interests of the people and puts their needs first.” said Mayor Khuzwayo-Dlamini.
This campaign has received widespread support from residents and community leaders who have praised the Municipality for taking action to improve service delivery in Maphumulo.
