Maphumulo Local Municipality Mayor Cllr Z.F Khuzwayo-Dlamini alongside Deputy Mayor Cllr S.C Shange, Speaker of Council, Cllr S.T Chili and a local Councillors officiated the sod-turning ceremonies of three key infrastructure projects.
The projects which are in Plezini, Nombokonjwane and Okhukho Road will provide safe access for communities and create much-needed job opportunities for residents in Ward 4, 6 and 10.
Her Worship the Mayor, Cllr Khuzwayo-Dlamini said they are continuing to fulfil the promise of providing adequate service delivery to the people of Maphumulo.
“It is our responsibility to better the lives of the people of Maphumulo and projects like these create employment opportunities for residents and also benefit local businesses through sub-contract work,” said the Mayor.
Her Worship Khuzwayo-Dlamini also urged members of the public to look after the infrastructure as it benefits them. Construction of the three projects is expected to start this week and will run for 6 to 12 months respectively.
